Funding Evidence
Funding applications and funded remediation projects need clear technical evidence, consistent project information and careful client-side coordination.
We provide advisory support for Cladding Safety Scheme and Building Safety Fund processes where appropriate, linking funding evidence with FRAEW, investigation, specification, tender and delivery stages. We are not the scheme administrator: eligibility and funding decisions sit with the scheme bodies, and we do not guarantee a funding outcome.
What to send, and what you receive
Share a few building details and we will confirm the right assessment or survey scope and a fee before you instruct.
What to send before we quote
- The building address and postcode
- Height or number of storeys, if known
- Tenure and how the building is used
- Any existing fire risk assessment or fire reports
- Drawings or previous external wall information
What you receive
- A written assessment, survey or review suited to the instruction
- Findings and recommended next steps
- A clear scope of what was and was not assessed
Some work can need specialist input (for example opening-up, laboratory analysis or a fire engineer); we set out where this applies and coordinate it where instructed. Ask what the report would include.

Project delivery interface
Contract administration, monitoring and stakeholder reporting can support funded remediation delivery.
When funding advisory support is needed
Clients usually come to us with fragmented evidence and an unclear route, not a scheme name. These are the typical triggers.
- A block may be eligible for CSS or BSF support.
- External wall evidence is fragmented across reports and parties.
- A remediation scope needs aligning with funding requirements.
- A responsible person needs help coordinating an application.
- A FRAEW or external wall evidence needs collating into a case.
- Funded works need contract administration and monitoring.
- Stakeholders and leaseholders need clear communication.
- You need to know whether a route is likely relevant before spending.
London building safety context
Our support is practical and evidence-led, without guaranteeing funding outcomes or overstating scheme eligibility.
Our advice is evidence-led and written for serious property decision-makers. Where legal advice, specialist fire engineering input or statutory role appointments are required, those matters are identified clearly rather than implied.
For many London blocks the practical question is not whether the external wall needs work but who pays for it, and the Cladding Safety Scheme and Building Safety Fund exist to fund eligible remediation of unsafe cladding on qualifying residential buildings. Eligibility and the process are set by the scheme rather than by us, but both turn on technical evidence: a fire risk appraisal of the external wall, a clear scope of the defects and proposed remediation, and cost information that stands up to scrutiny. We help freeholders, RMCs and managing agents assemble and review that evidence, align the FRAEW and remediation scope with what the scheme expects, and coordinate the surveying inputs to an application. We are explicit that we support the technical case and do not determine funding decisions, and we keep leaseholders' interests in view given they carry the consequences of delay.

This is a technical evidence and project coordination service. We help collate and present the building information, FRAEW and external wall evidence, remedial scope and technical narrative that a funding route relies on, and we can coordinate delivery. We are not the scheme administrator: eligibility and funding decisions, amounts and timescales are determined entirely by the relevant scheme bodies against their criteria, and we do not guarantee any funding outcome.
We are not your solicitor; legal eligibility, leaseholder protections and recovery routes are legal matters on which we work alongside your legal advisers. Where a FRAEW, fire engineering or specialist input is required we identify it and coordinate competent specialists rather than implying it is covered.

What is the Cladding Safety Scheme and the Building Safety Fund?
The Cladding Safety Scheme (CSS) and the Building Safety Fund (BSF) are government-backed routes that can fund eligible cladding and external wall remediation on qualifying buildings. They have their own eligibility criteria and processes, administered by the relevant scheme bodies. We provide technical evidence and project coordination support; we are not the scheme administrator and do not decide funding.
Do you guarantee funding approval?
No. Funding decisions sit entirely with the relevant scheme administrators against their criteria. We support the technical evidence and project coordination that an application relies on, but we cannot and do not guarantee eligibility, funding approval, the amount of funding, or timescales.
Can you help with Cladding Safety Scheme evidence?
Yes, where appropriate. We can help coordinate building information, the FRAEW and external wall evidence, material identification, the remedial scope and the technical narrative an application typically draws on, working alongside the responsible person and their advisers.
How does this link to FRAEW or PAS 9980?
Closely. A FRAEW carried out under PAS 9980 and the related external wall evidence usually underpin the remediation case and scope that a funding route considers. We help align that technical evidence with the remedial scope and the project programme.
Are you the scheme administrator?
No. We are an independent RICS regulated building consultancy providing technical and project support. The scheme administrators run eligibility and funding decisions; our role is to help present clear, consistent technical evidence and to coordinate delivery, not to administer the scheme.
What technical evidence does a funding route usually need?
Typically the building information and ownership position, a FRAEW or external wall fire risk evidence, material identification, the proposed remedial scope and specification, and cost information. The exact requirements depend on the scheme and the building, and we help identify and close the evidence gaps.
Can you monitor funded works?
Yes, subject to the appointment scope. Where remediation proceeds we can provide contract administration, clerk of works monitoring and client-side reporting so the funded works are delivered and evidenced consistently with the funding requirements.
Who is eligible for these funding routes?
Eligibility depends on the scheme criteria, including factors such as building height, the external wall construction and the type of defect, and these criteria change over time. We help establish whether a route is likely to be relevant before significant cost is incurred, but eligibility is determined by the scheme, not by us.
Can you act if a building is not eligible?
Yes. Where a building is not eligible, or eligibility is unclear, we can still advise on the external wall evidence, the remedial options and the practical routes forward, including how leaseholder protections and other funding or recovery routes may interact, alongside your legal advisers.
How early should we get advice?
As early as possible. Getting the technical evidence and the remedial scope right at the outset, and aligned with the scheme requirements, avoids wasted cost and delay later. Early coordination is usually the most valuable stage of this support.
